Members of the Advisory Council of the Institute are made up of men and women of proven intergrity cutting across the government, academia, religious organisations, traditional institutions and the corporate world with the task of playing advisory role to the Management Board of the Institute. They are:
A retired Ambassador Extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Benin, he is a Doctorial Degree holder in International Security from the American University in London in 2015 and a Political Science graduate from the University of Ibadan. Amb. Okon had served the Federal Radio Corporation as Journalist, worked with the then NSO (now SSS) as Assistant Superintendent and rose to the rank of Chief Superintendent before transfering his service to the foreign service in 1986, where he had served in different countries including Brazil, France, Israel, the United States of America. Dr. Okon is a National Honouree of (MFR).
Pastor Imo-Abasi Jacob is the Managing Director, Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation, AKICORP and Chairman, Board of Directors of Ibom Airlines Limited (Ibomair). Prior to his current position in AKICORP, he had served as the Executive Director (Operations), in charge of entrepreneurship & Business Development, Project Management & Implementation, and Investment Promotion & Appraisal.
He was the President of the Haggai Business School and Managing Partner of Imo-Abasi Jacob & Co [Chartered Accountants].
He is an accomplished business educationist, management consultant, and accountant, having over 41 years of professional experience in the defunct Andersen as a Partner in the audit practice with responsibility over the financial services industry and at RAITAS Consulting as Director. He was also in charge of the corporate recovery services at Andersen. He had been involved in the development of management thoughts and management principles.
He has developed many core value training and has written many books in this area. He is a certified Presenter and Financial Planner. He was a member of the Akwa Ibom Investment and Industrial Promotion Council (AKIIPOC), where He chaired the privatization committee.
He has been on many boards of companies in Nigeria and was the Chairman of Akwa Savings and Loans Limited [Mortgage Bankers] Ltd and a Director at Ibom Power Company Limited. He is presently on the board of Anchor Insurance Company Limited as Chairman, of Ibom Hotels & Golf Resort, Ibom Fadama Microfinance Bank, Omega Butler Marginal Field Ltd, and Akwa Savings and Loans Ltd.
Imo-Abasi is a holder of Bsc Management Studies (First Class) Honours and a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He is a member of many professional bodies and has attended many courses locally and internationally.
A University Teacher of high repute and former Dean of Student Affairs of the University of Uyo. She is a Professor of Animal Science/Lecturer in the University of Uyo with over thirty years experience in the classroom. Prof. Solomon has attended various national and international conferences where she has presented papers in many. With her depth of experience in the field of Agriculture, she is a resource person and has consulted for a number of governmental and international organizations. She is a member of Nigerian Society for Animal Production, Agriculture Society of Nigeria, Third World Organisation for Women in Science (TWOWS), National Association of Women in Academics (NAWACS), Nigerian Institute of Animal Science and Associate Editor, American Biographical Institute.
A widely travelled Minister of the Gospel and Tele/Radio Evangelist, he is the General Overseer, Word Tabernacle Worldwide. He is an alumnus of Muskegon Bible Institute, Indianapolis, Indiana where he obtained his Doctor of Divinity. He is also a proprietor of both Theological and secular schools.
An astute banker and currently the CEO of Pillars of Community Development located in Uyo, Nigeria. Obong Umoh, the Abai Ibiono Ibom is a product of the Polytechnic, Calabar, Imo State University, Owerri, the University of Calabar and holds HND (Accounting), MBA (Banking & Finance), M,Sc (Environmental Management) and Ph.D (Population, Environment and Development). His vision is to provide leadership that will create prosperity and lift more people out of poverty using the vehicle of PCD. A multiple award winning entrepreneur and Politician, Obong Umoh has over twenty years experience in the banking industry from Union Bank Plc, Commercial Bank (Credit Lyonnais Nigeria) Limited and Universal Trust Bank where he served under the core areas Credits, Treasury and Corporate Finance and Operations
Dr. Glory Edet is a Nigerian advocate for women and Child Rights. An Agricultural Economist and a Lecturer by profession. She was born at St. Theresa’s Hospital, Use Abat, Akwa Ibom State to disciplined Teachers; Chief and Mrs. Okon Akankpo both from Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. As part of the community services outside the University, Dr. Glory Edet She has served as the Commissioner for the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare in Akwa Ibom state, not once but twice. Her first appointment was in 2013, and she was re-appointed to the same position in 2015 by Udom Gabriel Emmanuel1. She served meritoriously and gave strong attention to details with good leadership abilities.
Dr. Glory Emmanuel Edet has also collaborated with organizations like the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) to support vulnerable children in Akwa Ibom state.
Before her government appointment, Dr. Glory Edet worked as a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension at the University of Uyo. Her academic journey includes being the Best Graduating Student in Agricultural Economics and Extension during her first Degree program at the University of Uyo.
She later pursued her M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics at the University of Ibadan and earned her Ph.D. in Resource and Environmental Economics from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State1. Dr. Glory Emmanuel Edet’s commitment to gender equality and social welfare has left a lasting impact on her community.
Dr. Glory Edet, a multiple Award-winning personality, with over Fifty (50) Journal articles in both National and International Journals is currently the founder of the Mary Slessor-AkanGlo Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering communities through education and social development initiatives.
Elder Engr. Otoabasi Ansa, currently the Director of Works, University of Uyo, Uyo was born a little over five (5) decades ago to the family of Late Obong Asuquo Effiong Ansa of Ikot Abiyak, Oku Iboku, Itu Local Government Area.
He attended Group School, Oku Iboku for his primary education. He gained admission into the Air Force Military School, Jos, Plateau State, where he obtained his General Certificate of Education (GCE) O’Level in 1985.
Engr. Otoabasi Ansa gained admission same year into the University of Benin, Benin City to study Civil Engineering for his Bachelor of Engineering Degree. At graduation from the University of Benin, He participated in the mandatory National Youth Service program and was posted to Ogun State.
At the end of his NYSC program, he secured employment with an Engineering Consulting firm and was posted to Jos, the Plateau State capital. While in the city of Jos, he seized the opportunity to study for a Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Construction Management in the University of Jos.
Engr. Otoabasi Ansa has over 28 years cognate engineering experience on several projects in various states in Nigeria, like Plateau, Nasarawa, kano, Benue, Taraba, FCT, Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Abia, Cross River and Akwa Ibom State.
Engr. Ansa is a registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He is a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE). He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Civil Engineers (MNICE).
Engr. Otoabasi Ansa is a member of the Lions Club International, a non-governmental international organization involved in the service of the less privileged members of our communities. Engr. Otoabasi Ansa is married to Mrs. Florence Ansa and they are blessed with four (4) Children.
His Highness, Eteidung (Lt. Col. Rtd.) Okon Etim Nyong, JP is a retired Military Officer and presently the Village Head of Ikot Otoinyie in Uruan LGA of Akwa Ibom State. He has been the Chief Security Officer, University of Uyo. Eteidung Nyong is alumnus of Nigeria Defense Academy, Kaduna, (Regular 14), University of Maiduguri, M.Sc. (Combined Honours), Political Science and Public Administration 1980; University of Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University) M.Sc. (International Relations and Strategic Studies) 1983.
He has attended series of national and Int’l Courses including Diploma in Personnel and Material Management Georgia, USA. 1985 – 86; Senior Division Command and Staff College: Psc. Jaji, Kaduna, 1988; Senior Officers Security Awareness Course: Diploma in Security Management, Nigerian Army Intelligence School, Apapa, Lagos, 1989; Senior Officer Management Course: Diploma in Personnel Management, Pakistan, 1989.

On retirement, as a service to his fatherland, he was appointed the Supervisor for Works and Transport, Transition Committee, Uruan LGA. 2003, while also serving as President TESKON (Nig) Ltd. Uyo, alongside other engagements.
