Institute of Corporate Leadership and Mentorship is a credible multi-disciplinary capacity building platform for distinguished leaders cutting across all professional and occupational divide with the objective of strengthening leadership, management and entrepreneurial skills amongst Nigerians.
It enjoys the statutory backing of Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission with certificate No: 1427954, having been endorsed by the Federal Ministry of Education (FME), with the consent of the Attorney General of the Federation.
Since its formal inauguration in November 30, 2017, ICLM has become a leading voice in the quest for improved corporate governance standards, with utmost dedication to developing and improving the effectiveness and performance of its members globally.
At ICLM, with currently over three (300) hundred registered members, we approach leadership with the notion that everyone in today’s world is a leader irrespective of the organization you lead – a family, a team, a department, a multi-national, an NGO, private sector and service-oriented organization or even a Church.
Since our society is evolving from a structure of hierarchies and standardized answers and processes to one that is constantly changing, the value of our approach lies in providing leaders with the skills that are evolving in the context of the great transition in thinking, technology and interconnectedness.
Our operational approach encompasses in-person/online lectures, collaboration, generative dialogue, adaptive planning, public policy advocacy and strategic research. It is our avowed commitment that leaders of today would be nurtured to function effectively with a definitive direction for progressive change for the attainment of organizational goals and sustainability.
The present day ICLM evolved from a media initiative which operated since 2002 under the auspices of Global Newstrend Newspaper. The vision was driven through Newstrend Annual Leadership and Entrepreneurship Conference (NALEC), as a non-political community service initiative. The object of the event was to provide a platform annually for bringing together major stakeholders in Nigeria’s multi-faceted sectors for the purpose of setting leadership agenda, re-defining goals, re-appraising organizational achievements, strategizing and empowering leaders towards addressing operational challenges as well as celebrating them.
The idea of NALEC metamophosing into a standard capacity building Institute (ICLM), was mooted during the 2015 edition of the Conference held on August 14, 2015, where it was unanimously resolved by the over two hundred participants that the epochal thought provoking, incisive, educating, inspiring and motivating programme, having successfully been organized for more than a decade be transformed into a well-structured professional body for its impact to be enjoyed beyond the confines of its initial operational structure
Our vision is “To be an authoritative professional body in Corporate Leadership and Mentorship development in Nigeria”
Our Mission is “To build a body of distinguished leaders with the highest level of competence by promoting practical training, synergizing and exchange of ideas for performance improvement in all aspects of organizational setting”.
Our core values is centered around identifying with and nurturing people of high integrity who are visionary, focused, dedicated and result oriented in their approaches to general leadership and progressive values.
